75th VE DAY CELEBRATIONS

75th Victory in Europe Celebrations - The Bank Holiday in May has been moved to Friday 08 May 2020 to coincide with the 75th Anniversary of the liberation of Europe in WW2, Victory in Europe. There are many events taking place around the Country for the Bank Holiday Friday and all weekend. This include street parties, 2.55pm The Last Post on the 4 highest peaks and most widespread locations in the UK, 3pm when Winston Churchill announced the war was over The Playing of Battle's O'er by pipers around the World together with British Beer and Pub Association and it's members and customers raising a glass for the Nation's Toast to the Heroes of WW2. At 6.55pm town criers take part in an international cry for Peace Around the World. Church Bells will ring out across the UK at 7pm.
On Saturday 09 May more street parties and celebrations will take place and on Sunday 10 May at 10.30 services will take place throughout cathedrals and churches throughout the UK where a Tribute to the Millions will be read out.
It's a fantastic way to celebrate a landmark time in history and give thanks to those that gave their yesterdays for our tomorrows.
